Fuschlsee, Salzkammergut Holiday Region

100% relaxation, yet so close to Salzburg!

The Fuschlsee Holiday Region extends out from the city limits of Salzburg to the Salzkammergut region.

Living here are hospitable, obliging people who, since time immemorial, have been giving their guests the precious gift of vacation memories to last a lifetime.

Unveiling itself before you is a holiday world that, when it comes to its diversity and authenticity, is virtually beyond compare.

Waiting to be discovered are crystal-clear lakes for sports and recreation both in and around the water, the beautiful high pastures of Faistenau/Hintersee, along with a multitude of fascinating excursion destinations.
Explore the Mill Trail in Ebenau or visit the Wartenfels ruins, the unofficial emblem of our region.
There are plenty more hidden treasures, but we don’t want to reveal them all to you right now.  After all, we’ll have plenty of time to do that during your vacation in the Fuschlsee Region!

A Touch of Paradise for Nature Lovers, plus Charm and Tradition beyond Measure!

The idyllic character of the Alpine Foothills has long been treasured, once by emperors, now by politicians and actors.  To this day, Flachau has managed to embrace the modern, yet still preserve its charm and traditions.

The leading light is undoubtedly the Salzkammergut, with its famous towns of St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang, along with the legendary “Weisses Rössl” (the “White Horse Inn”). Fuschl Castle is also a wonderful excursion destination, having once served as the shooting venue for this country’s beloved “Sissi” movies.

If you prefer simply to relax and allow your spirits to soar free, the opportunities are, quite simply, overflowing: numerous lakes with waters literally fit to drink, invite you to swim or take an enjoyable boat ride.

Hikers and climbers are rewarded with unforgettable vistas: iridescent blue lakes nestled between green hillsides and expansive forests. And at the end of a wonderful day, you should definitely not pass up on the opportunity to enjoy culinary delicacies featuring fish caught fresh in our local waters. Salzburg, with its broad range of attractions, lies close enough for a day trip. This world-famous city has so much to offer culture lovers no matter what the time of year: the Festival in summer, Jazzherbst in the autumn, Mozart Week, or the romantic Christmas Market held on the cathedral square during Advent.
